How do I export Salesforce data to monday.com?+
You have three practical routes. Salesforce's Data Export Wizard (Setup > Data > Data Export) schedules CSV exports of standard and custom objects weekly or monthly. The Salesforce Data Loader (a free desktop tool) pulls objects on-demand to CSV. The Salesforce REST API pulls everything programmatically and preserves ownership, record IDs, and relationships that CSV exports lose. When we run your migration, we use the REST API approach so the data arrives in monday.com with relationships intact, not as flat tables you have to reconcile by hand.
What can be exported from Salesforce?+
Standard objects (Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, Cases, Tasks, Events) and custom objects export cleanly via all three methods. Notes, files, and attachments need an additional pull via the ContentDocument API. Field history, audit logs, and Chatter posts are subject to Salesforce API limits and may need staged export. Apex code, Flows, validation rules, and approval processes do not export in the migration sense — we rebuild them as monday.com automations or Make.com scenarios, preserving the business logic without carrying the maintenance overhead.
Can I use the Salesforce Data Export Wizard for the full migration?+
You can, but knowing the limits matters. The Data Export Wizard runs weekly on Enterprise edition and monthly on Professional. It exports raw object CSVs but does not preserve the lookups and relationships between objects when you re-import elsewhere. For a clean cutover we use the REST API to keep ownership, history, and relationships in place. If you have already exported your data via the wizard, we accept those CSVs and handle the relationship reconciliation as part of the migration.
How long does a Salesforce to monday.com migration take?+
Typically 2 to 6 weeks depending on data volume, custom objects, and automation complexity. Simple setups can go faster; heavily customised orgs take longer. We'll give you an accurate timeline after the free assessment.
Will I lose any data during migration?+
No. We use staged migration with validation at every checkpoint. You review test batches before we migrate the full dataset. Post-migration, we run a reconciliation report to confirm everything transferred correctly.
Can monday.com really replace Salesforce for our sales team?+
For most growing businesses, yes. monday CRM handles contact management, deal tracking, pipeline management, email integration, automations, and reporting. Where Salesforce has an edge is in deeply complex enterprise scenarios with hundreds of custom objects and heavy Apex code. For the vast majority of SMBs, monday.com delivers the same outcomes at a fraction of the cost and complexity.
What about our existing Salesforce integrations?+
We audit every integration during the assessment. Most common integrations, email, calendar, Slack, accounting tools, marketing platforms, have native monday.com equivalents or can be connected via Make.com. For custom integrations, we build API connections as needed.
How much does migration cost?+
It depends on your Salesforce complexity, users, data volume, custom objects, automations, and integrations. Book a free assessment and we'll provide a detailed quote. Most clients find the migration cost pays for itself within 3 to 6 months through reduced licensing alone.
Can we keep using Salesforce during the transition?+
Yes. We run parallel systems during migration so your team never has a gap. We define a clear cutover date once the new system is validated and your team is trained.
